LOON, Bohol — A logistics delivery hub in Barangay Cogon Norte, Loon was burglarized early Monday, August 24, resulting in the theft of a safety vault containing ₱423,086 in cash.
The Loon Police Station received a report about the suspected break-in shortly after 1:30 a.m.
Responding officers found that the establishment’s main door had been forcibly opened. The company’s safety vault was also found missing.
Hub supervisor Mary Mae Loyola-Dichos told police that the vault contained ₱423,086 in cash.
The incident was discovered after a delivery driver arrived from another logistics hub in Dao, Lanao, Tagbilaran City, to pick up and load parcels for distribution to other hubs.
The driver reportedly noticed signs of a possible break-in and alerted company personnel, who subsequently checked the premises and confirmed that the safety vault had been taken.
Personnel of the Loon Police Station, led by Police Chief PCapt. Rodney A. Bantolo, responded to the scene and conducted an initial investigation.
Bohol Police Provincial Office Public Information Officer PMaj. Joseph Lopena said authorities are continuing their investigation and verification to determine how the suspect or suspects gained entry into the facility and to identify those responsible.
Police have yet to determine whether other items were taken during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
