TAGBILARAN CITY — The Bohol provincial government reported strong revenue collections and maintained a P4-billion General Fund as it continued to strengthen its financial management and fiscal sustainability.
Provincial Treasurer Eustaquio Socorin presented the Provincial Treasury Office’s financial report during the flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol Grounds on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026.
Socorin said the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado, collected P2.49 billion as of June 30, representing 52.04% of the province’s projected P4.79-billion General Fund revenue for 2026.
Collections for the Special Education Fund (SEF) reached P81.32 million, or 90.36% of the P90-million annual target.
The provincial government also placed its P4-billion General Fund in a high-yield savings account while awaiting its programmed utilization.
The move is expected to generate an estimated P40 million to P50 million in annual interest, which could help support public services, infrastructure projects and other development initiatives.
The PTO also reported that it received and managed financial assistance from various national government agencies for rice assistance, climate resilience, typhoon recovery and agricultural development.
Among the projects supported by these funds is the rehabilitation of the Desamparados (Calape)-Tabuan (Antequera) Farm-to-Market Road under the Philippine Rural Development Project.
Socorin also highlighted improvements in the treasury office’s operations, including the 100% liquidation of payroll cash advances within the prescribed five-day period and the consistent one-day processing of salaries, wages, benefits and other claims.
The office also strengthened monitoring of cash and check releases through closer coordination with administrative and liaison officers.
Socorin reminded payroll makers and administrative officers to ensure that payroll vouchers contain complete, accurate and readable bank account numbers to prevent delays in processing salaries and benefits.
He also said amendments to the Provincial Revenue Code are pending final deliberation by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The provincial government said its financial position reflects its commitment to transparency, fiscal integrity and responsible stewardship of public funds as it pursues resilient governance and inclusive development across Bohol.
