An 87-year-old motorcyclist died while a 27-year-old woman was injured after their motorcycles collided along the National Highway in Purok 5, Barangay Tangnan, Panglao, Bohol, on Monday morning, Aug. 3.

Police said the elderly rider, a resident of Tangnan, and the woman, who also lives in the barangay, were traveling in the same direction when the older rider allegedly made a sudden U-turn.

The woman reportedly had little time to react, causing her motorcycle to collide with the elderly rider’s motorcycle.

Both riders were thrown onto the road and suffered serious injuries.

They were taken to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City, where the 87-year-old rider was declared dead on arrival.

The 27-year-old woman remains under medical treatment.
