At least 35 medical doctors and workers in Tubigon town were the first to get injected with AstraZeneca, a vaccine for coronavirus, on Wednesday (March 17).
Dr. Madilyn Revil, a Medical Officer of the Tubigon Community Hospital, was the first recipient of the coronavirus vaccine in Tubigon town, according to the municipal information office.
Tubigon Mayor William R. Jao witnessed the town’s first anti-Covid vaccination.
There were 35 employees of the Tubigon Community Hospital got their first dose of the vaccine.
In San Miguel town, Mayor Virgilio “Dodong” Mendez was the first local chief executive in the province to be injected with the coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday, March 17.

“I am a Municipal Mayor, a senior citizen and i believe in vaccination. Lead by example,” Mendez said on his official Facebook page.
In Ubay town, members of the local disaster risk and reduction management office were also vaccinated with AstrazlZeneca vaccine.

About 5,140 doses of AstraZeneca and 1,340 doses of CoronaVac vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) arrived in Bohol last Sunday, March 14.
The doses, which came from Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas, were intended for medical frontliners in public and private hospitals.

The AstraZeneca vaccine was developed by the University of Oxford, while CoronaVac was developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech. Both administered in two doses.
The first vaccination rollout in Bohol was held on March 6 with 2,860 vials of CoronaVac inoculated to health workers at Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital.
