TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol 2nd District Rep. Vanessa Cadorna-Aumentado has filed a bill seeking to upgrade the Ubay National Science High School into the Regional Science High School for Central Visayas.
House Bill No. 10297, filed on Wednesday, July 29, is titled, “An Act Converting the Ubay National Science High School in the Municipality of Ubay, Province of Bohol, into the Regional Science High School for Region VII (Central Visayas), Strengthening Its Capacity as a Premier Science Secondary Educational Institution, and Appropriating Funds Therefor.”
The proposed measure aims to strengthen the school’s capacity as a leading science-oriented secondary educational institution that will serve students across Region VII.
If enacted into law, the measure would elevate Ubay National Science High School into the official Regional Science High School for Central Visayas, expanding its role in providing quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-focused education while supporting the development of academically gifted students in the region.
The bill also seeks to provide the necessary funding for the school’s conversion, operations, facilities, and continued development.
The proposed legislation forms part of Rep. Aumentado’s legislative agenda focused on education, alongside her programs, services, and development initiatives for the Second District of Bohol.
