PILAR, Bohol — The national road near the Malinao Dam in Pilar is currently passable only to light vehicles after continuous heavy rains damaged a temporary detour in the area.
According to authorities, intense rainfall caused water to overflow through the ongoing Spillway Project of the National Irrigation Authority (NIA), which crosses the national road along the Jct. (LIR) Dat-an Carmen – Sierra Bullones – Pilar – Alicia Road. The overflow led to severe road scouring and damage to the temporary bypass.
Motorists driving heavy vehicles are advised to take alternate routes until further notice, while light vehicles may still pass with caution.
Authorities apologized for the inconvenience and urged the public to cooperate as repair and monitoring efforts continue.
