TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Tagbilaran City Council will hold a public hearing on Friday, July 10, on a proposed ordinance seeking to reduce the minimum tricycle fare in the city to P15 for the first kilometer.
The public hearing, scheduled at 9 a.m. at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, will gather feedback from residents, transport groups, and other stakeholders before the proposed measure is deliberated further.
City Councilor Leonides “Edi” Borja, author of the proposed ordinance and chairman of the Committee on Public Utilities and Franchises, urged the public to attend and share their views and recommendations on the measure.
At present, the minimum tricycle fare in Tagbilaran City is P20 for the first kilometer, which is being implemented through a City Council resolution.
If approved, the proposed ordinance would reduce the minimum fare to P15 and formally establish it as city policy, replacing the existing resolution.
The City Council is expected to consider the comments and recommendations raised during the public hearing before proceeding with deliberations on the proposed ordinance.
