TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Around 300 officials of the Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities for the Transformation of Men (Erpat) from across Bohol gathered for the province’s first Provincial Gents’ Summit on June 30 at the Bohol Cultural Center.
Organized by the Provincial Government of Bohol, the summit carried the theme, “Empowering Men, Strengthening Families and Transforming Communities.”
The activity highlighted the important role of fathers and men in strengthening families and preventing violence in homes and communities. Participants were urged to become advocates of peace and support efforts to eliminate violence, stressing that peace begins at home.
Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado said the summit aimed to unite Boholano men and encourage them to contribute to the welfare of their families and communities.
He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to promoting responsible fatherhood, shared parenting, and positive masculinity through programs that strengthen the role of men as fathers, husbands, and community leaders.
During the program, Aumentado administered the oath of office to the newly elected provincial Erpat officers.
Representatives of Second District Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentado and Third District Rep. Alexie Besas-Tutor also delivered messages supporting greater male participation in community development.
The afternoon session featured a lecture by Prosecutor II Adolfo Doroy on positive masculinity and Philippine laws related to the empowerment and transformation of men.
