PANGLAO, Bohol — A total of 79 baby green sea turtles were successfully released into the sea on the evening of June 15, 2026, at Hennan Premiere Coast in Panglao as part of ongoing marine conservation efforts in Bohol.
The release was facilitated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources Office Tagbilaran in partnership with the Provincial Intelligence and Public Safety Office and the Provincial Internal Peace and Public Relations Program.
The hatchlings were carefully released into their natural habitat after being monitored and protected during the incubation period, contributing to efforts to sustain the population of green sea turtles in Bohol’s coastal waters.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado emphasized the province’s commitment to protecting its natural resources and preserving critical habitats for marine wildlife.
He said the provincial government remains serious in its efforts to safeguard Bohol’s environmental treasures and will continue working to ensure that the province remains a safe haven for green sea turtles.
Green sea turtles are among the marine species protected under Philippine environmental laws and play an important role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.
The release forms part of continuing conservation initiatives aimed at protecting endangered marine species and promoting environmental awareness among local communities and stakeholders.
