CEBU CITY — Fast ferry operator OceanJet announced a reduction in its temporary fuel surcharge on several routes beginning June 8, 2026, following recent improvements in fuel prices.

In an advisory issued to passengers, the company said the adjustment comes as fuel costs have eased compared to previous months.

However, OceanJet noted that fuel prices remain significantly higher than pre-crisis levels, prompting the company to retain a portion of the temporary surcharge to help sustain safe and reliable operations.

OceanJet emphasized that the fuel surcharge remains temporary and will be completely removed once fuel prices return to normal levels.

“We understand that any fare adjustment may still not be ideal for our passengers, and we sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and support during this period,” the company said.

Under the updated fares effective June 8, passengers traveling between Cebu and Tagbilaran will pay P920 for Tourist/Open Air class and P1,550 for Business Class.

For the Cebu-Ormoc route, fares were set at P1,400 for Tourist/Open Air and P1,950 for Business Class.

The same rates will apply to the Cebu-Palompon and Cebu-Maasin routes.

Passengers traveling between Cebu and Getafe will pay P560 for Tourist/Open Air and P1,000 for Business Class.

Meanwhile, fares for the Tagbilaran-Siquijor route were adjusted to P950 for Tourist/Open Air and P1,550 for Business Class.

The Siquijor-Dumaguete route will cost P450 for Tourist/Open Air and P750 for Business Class, while the Tagbilaran-Dumaguete route will be P1,100 for Tourist/Open Air and P1,750 for Business Class.

For the Maasin-Surigao route, fares were set at P1,000 for Tourist/Open Air and P1,550 for Business Class.

OceanJet said routes not included in the advisory will retain their current fares.

The company added that future fare adjustments will continue to be evaluated based on fuel market conditions and operational requirements.

The ferry operator reiterated its commitment to providing safe, efficient, and dependable sea travel while balancing operational sustainability and passenger affordability.
