Boholympics 2026 opens with 2,482 athletes from 43 towns

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The provincial government of Bohol officially opened Boholympics 2026 on Wednesday, June 3, gathering 2,482 athletes from 43 municipalities under the theme “Unlocking Potentials, Forging Unity.”

Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado formally declared the games open during ceremonies at the Bohol Cultural Center, emphasizing the province’s commitment to youth development through sports.

The three-day sports meet features 19 events, including athletics, basketball, football, boxing, swimming, taekwondo, volleyball, and weightlifting.

Earlier, sports officials, stakeholders, and partner institutions gathered for the Boholympics 2026 Solidarity and Stakeholders’ Night at Panda Tea Garden Suites, where they reaffirmed their support for the successful conduct of the provincial sports meet.

Vice Governor Pacifico Nicanor “Nick” Besas Jr., DepEd-Bohol officials led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Fay Luarez, local government representatives, and tournament officials attended the event.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to partner agencies, organizations, institutions, and tournament chairpersons for their contributions to Boholympics 2026.

The Boholympics aims to strengthen grassroots sports development and identify future athletes who may represent Bohol in regional and national competitions.
