PANGLAO, Bohol —An 18-year-old woman who had been reported missing since May 5 was found dead on Friday evening, May 8, 2026, in Sitio Talisay, Barangay Doljo, Panglao, authorities said.
Bohol Island News withheld the identity of the victim pending notification of her family.
The victim, a native of Mindanao who was temporarily staying in Barangay Libaong in the same town, was discovered by a resident at around 6 p.m.
According to initial information, the young woman was last seen alive on Tuesday afternoon after reportedly leaving to claim her salary.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) remained at the area Friday night to conduct a thorough investigation and determine whether foul play was involved in the victim’s death.
Police are continuing to gather evidence and obtain statements from possible witnesses to shed light on the incident.
