TAGBILARAN CITY — Authorities seized around P56,000 worth of illegal cigarettes in a law enforcement operation conducted by the Anda Police Station in Barangay Suba, Anda, Bohol on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Police said the operation, based on a Target Intelligence Packet, led to the confiscation of 56 reams of cigarettes that lacked the required graphic health warnings, a violation of Republic Act 10643.
The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Joemar Pomarejos, chief of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, and with the guidance of Patricio Degay Jr., provincial director of the Bohol Police Provincial Office.
Authorities said the successful operation highlights the continued vigilance of police in Bohol against illegal trade and their commitment to ensuring compliance with the law.
Further investigation is underway to determine the source and distribution network of the seized cigarettes.
