Bohol bags first gold in CVIRAA 2026 athletics

CEBU CITY—Bohol secured its first gold medal in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) 2026 after a standout performance in athletics.

Nila Acampado, a secondary student from St. John the Baptist Academy, Inc. in Garcia Hernandez, clinched the gold medal in the girls’ 3,000-meter run, marking an early victory for the province in the regional meet.

Acampado outpaced her competitors in the long-distance event, demonstrating endurance and determination that brought pride to Team Bohol. Her win is the province’s first gold medal in this year’s CVIRAA.

Local officials and supporters lauded Acampado’s achievement, describing it as a testament to the hard work and discipline of Boholano student-athletes.

Her coach, Geneveve Arboleras, was also recognized for her guidance and support throughout the athlete’s training and competition.

The victory sets a positive tone for Bohol’s campaign in CVIRAA 2026, with hopes high for more podium finishes in the coming days.

CVIRAA is an annual regional sporting event that gathers student-athletes from across Central Visayas, serving as a platform to showcase grassroots talent and sports excellence.
