A student-athlete from Bohol secured a gold medal in athletics during the 2026 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) meet.
Jhul Ian Cañalita of Tabuan National High School in Garcia Hernandez clinched the gold in the Secondary Boys 3,000-meter steeplechase, adding another medal to Team Bohol’s tally in the regional sports competition.
Cañalita’s performance showcased endurance and determination, bringing pride to Bohol’s delegation in the annual regional games.
School officials also recognized Coach Phagie A. Abella for guiding and supporting the athlete throughout the competition.
The victory highlights the continuing strong showing of Boholano athletes in CVIRAA.
