TAGBILARAN CITY — Ten residents, including seven children, were hospitalized after accidentally consuming poisonous mushrooms in Barangay Rizal, Talibon town, on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The patients, composed of seven minors and three adults, were immediately brought to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital where they received prompt medical treatment.
Health authorities said the victims were residents of Barangay Rizal who had unknowingly eaten toxic mushrooms. Due to the quick response and immediate transport to the hospital, all patients were treated in time.
Hospital officials confirmed that all patients have since recovered after receiving proper medical care.
Second District Rep. Vanessa “Van-Can” Aumentado also extended assistance to cover the medical needs of the patients.
The lawmaker expressed gratitude to the health workers for their swift response, which helped prevent serious complications from the mushroom poisoning incident.
