PANGLAO, Bohol — More than P8.8 million worth of suspected shabu, a firearm, and a vehicle were seized in a buy-bust operation conducted before noon in Barangay Libaong, Panglao, leading to the arrest of two drug suspects, police said.
In a report, the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) said the operation was carried out at 11:58 a.m. in Purok 6 by joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).
The team was led by PLt. Col. Joemar Pomarejos, chief of PIU/PDEU, with assistance from PLt. Dave Surio and in coordination with the Panglao Municipal Police Station.
The units operate under the command of Provincial Director Patricio Degay Jr.
Arrested were Junne Langcamon Pame, 41, single, a resident of Taloto, Tagbilaran City, who reportedly works as a chicken handler, and Levi Magnaong Fronteras, 48, a resident of Santa Cruz, Calape, Bohol.
Seized during the operation were approximately 1,296.4 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P8,815,520.
Also recovered were a caliber 9mm pistol with one magazine and five live bullets, one marked P1,000 bill, 13 pieces of fake P1,000 boodle money, one small sachet of suspected shabu used in the buy-bust, five large sachets and three small sachets of suspected shabu found in their possession, a durian tea bag and a paper bag with Chinese characters, and a Toyota Vios car believed to have been used in the transaction.
Police records showed that Pame was previously arrested in 2025 for a drug-related offense but was later acquitted.
Degay commended the operating units for this landmark achievement, noting that this is one of the largest drug hauls intercepted by the province to date.
“Imagine how many lives would have been affected if these drugs had reached our communities,” he said.
Authorities said charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, are being prepared against the suspects.
