6,200 individuals evacuated in Bohol as Typhoon Basyang nears

TAGBILARAN CITY — A total of 2,421 families, or about 6,200 individuals, have been safely relocated to various evacuation centers across Bohol as part of the local government’s preemptive evacuation measures amid the threat posed by Typhoon Basyang.

The province is expected to experience strong winds and possible flooding or landslides, prompting the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to continuously urge the public to remain vigilant, heed official advisories, and prioritize the safety of their families while severe weather conditions persist.

Based on the latest report as of 12:30 a.m. on February 6, 2026, the entire province of Bohol has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as Typhoon Basyang continues to move closer.

In Candijay town, 449 families were evacuated since Thursday afternoon.
