CALAPE, Bohol — Authorities have recovered skeletal remains believed to be those of a 39-year-old man who went missing more than a year ago in Barangay Cabayugan, Calape town.
Police identified the remains as Reneto Labrigas, based on confirmation from his family. Labrigas was reported missing in April 2025 after leaving their home and failing to return.
The Calape Police said the remains were discovered by a resident who was gathering firewood in the area and immediately reported the find to authorities.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) who processed the site recovered a rope near the remains, which police said could indicate possible self-harm.
Authorities stressed, however, that the case is still under investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of death.
Police said they are continuing their inquiry and have coordinated with the family for further procedures.
