LOAY, BOHOL — Following a series of calamities that struck the province in recent days, the Municipal Government of Loay has announced the cancellation of several key activities for the upcoming Sambat Maskara y Regatta festival.
In an advisory, organizers said the following events will no longer push through:
❎ Tabo sa Loay (Agro Fair)
❎ Harana sa Maskara (featuring Tropa Vibes)
❎ Kumbira sa Maskara
❎ Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown
However, some festival components will continue as scheduled, particularly those centered on cultural tradition and religious devotion:
✅ Individual Maskara Competition
✅ Boat Decoration Contest
✅ Fluvial Parade
✅ Holy Mass and Procession — highlighted as the most important part of the celebration
✅ BEC Day
Organizers emphasized that in light of recent calamities, prayer and spiritual solidarity remain the most essential, urging the public to join in collective prayers for safety and recovery.
