The provincial government continued its array of activities for the Kasadya Sa Bohol 2023 with a Dayegon Chorale and Rondalla Competition last Sunday, Dec. 10.
The event, organized by the Center for Culture and Arts Development Office, was held Dec 10 at the Bohol Cultural Center, where local government units (LGUs) went head-to-head in showcasing their musical abilities through chorale and rondalla.
To spice up the competition, a take-home prize of P150,000 was up for grabs to this year’s champion in the respective competitions.
The LGUs who participated in the Chorale Competition were Tubigon, Garcia Hernandez, Tagbilaran, Dauis, Baclayon, and Balilihan.
The venue was filled with holiday cheers as the participants sang various traditional Filipino Christmas songs, donning their filipinianas and barong tagalogs.
When it was over, Tubigon emerged as grand champion of the chorale competition, with it pocketing the coveted P150,000 prize.
Tagbilaran City finished second and the P100,000 prize that went with it, while Dauis went settled for third worth P75,000.
On the other hand, five LGUs competed in the rondalla competition namely Garcia Hernandez, Bilar, Loboc, Sikatuna, and Calape.

The renown musical town of Loboc bested all competitors when it was declared winner in the rondalla competition and the cash prize of P150,000.
Its neighboring town of Bilar settled for second place with the P100,000 cash prize while Garcia Hernandez came in third with P75,000.
The Kasadya Sa Bohol 2023 celebration aims to celebrate Bohol’s rich cultural heritage and bring entertainment and enjoyment to Boholanos during the holiday season by showcasing local talents through performing arts.
Under the strategic roadmap of the Aumentado-Balite Administration, the provincial government recognizes the need for local traditions to be preserved and to promote a sense of pride among Boholanos on their heritage through various cultural programs. (PIMO/GMC)
