More towns in eastern Bohol placed under Signal No. 3 as Typhoon Tino nears

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Twenty-three towns in eastern Bohol were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as Typhoon Tino continues to move westward and threatens the Visayas with strong winds and heavy rains, according to Pagasa’s 2 p.m. bulletin on Monday.

Areas under Signal No. 3 include Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Bien Unido, Ubay, Trinidad, Talibon, San Miguel, Mabini, Getafe, Buenavista, Inabanga, Danao, Dagohoy, Guindulman, Pilar, Alicia, Candijay, Anda, Jagna, Duero, Sierra Bullones, Carmen, Sagbayan, and Clarin.

Pagasa warned that these areas may experience storm-force winds of up to 117 km/h, posing a moderate to significant threat to life and property. Residents in coastal and low-lying areas were advised to take precautionary measures and follow evacuation orders from local officials.

As of 1 p.m., the center of Typhoon Tino was located 235 km east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h and gusts reaching 150 km/h, moving westward at 25 km/h.
