In honor of President Marcos’ birthday, the Capitol hosted a feast of turnover of financial aid, essential equipment, and social services from provincial offices and national government agencies to local beneficiaries.
The provincial Glgovernment of Bohol, led by Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, celebrated President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Romualdez Marcos Jr.’s 67th birthday through the nationwide simultaneous “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” on September 13 at the New Capitol Building’s lobby and backstage grounds.
The ‘Handog’ aimed at bolstering community support for development across Bohol, especially in delivering inclusive services in the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark Island and Regenerative Province.
It was also poised to contribute to attaining resilient and smart communities, as envisioned with Aumentado’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, which is aligned with President Marcos’ 10-Point Economic Agenda.
A total of P97.37 million worth of agricultural assistance and equipment projects were turned over by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 7 to the 52 People’s Organizations (POs) from 30 municipalities through the Provincial Agriculture Technology Coordinating Office.
DA turned over one 4WD tractor and one hauling truck under the Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture Program; 21 units of the floating tiller and 16,000 bags of hybrid rice under the Rice Program; one solar-powered irrigation system and one combine harvester under the Corn Program; one 4WD tractor and four multi cultivators under High-Value Crops Development Program; Carabao, Cattle, and Poultry Production under the Special Area for Agricultural Development Program, and two sets of assorted farm supplies under the Organic Agriculture Program.
Capitol’s Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) turned over P229,000 worth of livestock production support, including mineral blocks, polynet, and molasses for nine POs in Antequera, Maribojoc, Bilar, Balilihan, Cortes, Sikatuna.
The Education Development Center (EDC), which distributed school bags for 100 children of Capitol employees, partnered with OPV through Bohol Dairy Cooperative for the milk booth, allowing attendees to enjoy complimentary drinks during the event.
The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, allocated calamity funds with 19 sacks of Tilapia feeds and 1,000 pieces of fingerlings each for El Niño-affected fisherfolks.
Ten beneficiary fisherfolk from five Antequera barangays, including Bicahan, Bantolinaw, Bitaugan, Bungahan, and Tabu-an received the assistance.
OPA distributed agro-chemicals to municipal agriculture offices in Alburquerque, Antequera, Corella, Maribojoc, and Sikatuna, as well as fruit tree seedlings to Philippine National Police in Corella in support of their tree planting program.
The Office of the Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD) turned over assistive devices to 11 persons with disabilities, consisting of 10 white cane and one wheelchair, and livelihood assistance amounting to P557,622 to the Getafe Motorcycle Operators and Driver’s Association.
OPSWD also released P2,000 in financial assistance to each of the 25 beneficiaries through the Local Government Support Fund – Assistance to Individuals In Crisis Situations of the Department of Budget and Management.
The Provincial Health Office conducted free health screening and Urinalysis for the Capitol employees while the Department of Health identified 25 recipients of walking aid from eight local government units in Bohol.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Cooperative Development Office gave P166,335 in financial aid to the Kauswagan Sur Farmers’ Association in San Isidro through the Livelihood Development Assistance Program.

The Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD) turned over prizes to the winners of the Sandugo 2024 Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown, with P480,000 for Tagbilaran City (Grand Champion), P320,000 for Loay (1st Runner Up), and P240,000 for Maribojoc.
For the special awards, CCAD awarded Best in Street Dancing and Best in Musicality to Loboc, while Tagbilaran City received the Best in Costume Design prize.
Moreover, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) released the Integrated Livelihood Program for San Jose Parents of Child Laborers Association amounting to P1.49 million, with Barangay San Jose, Talibon as its accredited co-partner for the program implementation.
Five hundred (500) beneficiaries, 125 each from Baclayon, Dauis, Corella, and Maribojoc, have been profiled and oriented under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers Program of DOLE.
A special recruitment activity for 30 overseas applicants was also conducted by the Bohol Employment and Placement Office-Public Employment Service Office.
The Department of Interior and Local Government offered free legal aid and consultation services on issues and concerns regarding local governance, criminal, and civil disputes cognizable by the Katarungang Pambarangay Law and related matters.
Twenty-seven (27) former rebels were given livelihood kits from the Department of Trade and Industry under the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa, which is a seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises that prioritizes areas affected by calamities, including armed conflicts.
Bohol’s Technical Education and Skills Development Authority distributed allowance to 50 scholars from Technical Vocational Education and Training Programs, including Batch 1 and 2 of Bookkeeping National Certificate (NC) III with P130,240 and P134,000 for Caregiving NC II.
Along with this, the Bohol One Stop Shop (BOSS) Abante Serbisyo Caravan, an initiative of the Bohol Economic Development And Investment Promotion Office (BEDIPO) in partnership with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Social Security System, Pag-ibig, Philhealth, DILG, DOLE, DTI, Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Statistics Authority and NBI, took place in the Capitol Lobby.
This activity was in partnership with the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office, which also hosted the breakout session for a forum on fighting investment scams and financing with SEC and SBCorp that took place at the Ceremonial Hall.
Furthermore, Aumentado underscored service as a cornerstone of values to meaningfully the community as he greeted President Marcos who celebrated his birthday on the same day.
The governor said Marcos’ dedication to improving the lives of Filipinos through leading the collective effort toward a Bagong Pilipinas is a fitting celebration of the latter’s 67th birthday.
Usec. Trygve Olaivar of the Department of Education was the guest of honor during the activity and represented Marcos in handing over food packs to attendees.
Olaivar expressed gratitude for the varied services and assistance that Marcos has extended not only through Handog ng Pangulo but also throughout his presidency.
