TAGBILARAN CITY – Governor Aris Aumentado on Sunday ordered the suspension of classes in all levels, both public and private, across Bohol province on Monday, November 3, as a precautionary measure against the possible effects of Tropical Storm Tino.
The announcement came after an emergency meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), which convened to prepare for the storm’s arrival.
Aumentado, who chairs the PDRRMC, said the province is bracing for possible heavy rains, flooding, and strong winds as Tino moves closer to the Visayas.
“We are preparing for the worst-case scenario to ensure everyone’s safety,” he said.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Anthony Damalerio advised the public to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in low-lying and coastal areas.
Meanwhile, the 129th Carlos P. Garcia Day celebration scheduled on Tuesday, November 4, has also been cancelled due to the approaching storm.
All local disaster response teams and emergency assets have been placed on standby as the province closely monitors the weather situation.
