The provincial government of Bohol and the World Bank reaffirmed their partnership to strengthen water security and sanitation systems under the Accelerated Water and Sanitation Project in Selected Areas (AWSPSA) during a coordination meeting at the Governor’s Office on October 21, 2025.
World Bank Senior Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist Ma. Fiorella Fabella confirmed the project’s formal approval by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development — a key milestone in advancing sustainable infrastructure for the province.
The project will benefit Alburquerque, Dauis, Panglao, and Tagbilaran City, identified as priority areas due to increasing population and tourism demands.
Discussions covered technical, financial, and tariff-setting updates for local government units, with World Bank consultants and DILG engineers joining Governor Aris Aumentado, Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, and other Capitol officials.
