TAGBILARAN CITY — The provincial government of Bohol, led by Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado, welcomed physicians under the Doctors to the Barrios (DTTB) and Post-Residency Deployment Program (PRDP) during a courtesy visit at the Capitol on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
The visit brought together doctors assigned to rural and underserved municipalities across Bohol, reaffirming the province’s strong commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare in remote communities.
Among those present were Dr. Cheska Rio Molina, Dr. Junica Mel Calubaquib, Dr. Yowerie Ched Sedano, Dr. Georich Narciso, Dr. Ma. Donabelle Agbayani, Dr. Emer Joy Vale, Dr. Christian Agarpao, Dr. Ciarra Joy Bueno, Dr. Joyce Tolentino, Dr. Shena Marie Jamero, Dr. Krissa Mae Tayone, Dr. Mae Abigail Simogan, and Dr. Mary Elizabeth Halasan.
They were joined by Michael Macan, Administrative Assistant III, and Ruth Cecilia Del Prado, Development Management Officer IV, both from the Department of Health–Central Visayas Center for Health Development.
According to the DOH, a total of 27 doctors have been deployed to Bohol since 2023, each serving a three-year term in province-managed hospitals and municipal health units across the island. Some were unable to attend the courtesy visit due to ongoing training and field assignments.
Doctors under the DTTB and PRDP programs are currently stationed in the municipalities of Anda, Balilihan, Batuan, Bien Unido, Bilar, Buenavista, Carmen, Catigbian, Danao, Dauis, Getafe, Guindulman, Inabanga, Jagna, Mabini, Maribojoc, Pilar, President Carlos P. Garcia, Sagbayan, Sevilla, Talibon, and Tubigon.
Governor Aumentado expressed his appreciation for the doctors’ dedication, noting their essential role in strengthening local healthcare systems and reaching far-flung areas.
He also revealed plans for a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the provincial government and the DOH to provide transportation allowances for deployed doctors — a move that will be supported by a resolution from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Also present during the meeting were Chief of Staff Filipina Asoy-Piollo, PHRMDO head Anne Mariquit Derikito-Oppus, and Provincial Health Office officer-in-charge Dr. Fruserma Mary Uy.
Under the program, PRDP doctors serve for at least one year, while DTTB physicians commit to two years plus one additional year for every year of training received, totaling three years of service in their assigned communities.
