BOGO CITY, Cebu — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday led national and local government officials in assessing the situation in Bogo City, the hardest-hit area of the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu and nearby provinces on September 30.
The President visited the Yolanda Housing Village in Barangay Polambato, a relocation site for survivors of Supertyphoon Yolanda, which sustained heavy damage during the tremor. Authorities confirmed that at least eight bodies have been recovered from collapsed houses in the village.
Marcos was joined by Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro, provincial and city officials, and members of his Cabinet, including Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Education Secretary Sonny Angara, and Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
