TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bohol Third District Engineering Office has issued a clarification on Tuesday, September 1, to refute allegations circulating on social media regarding the awarding of infrastructure projects in the province’s third district.
In an official statement, District Engineer Magiting A. Cruz stressed that none of the contractors mentioned in the social media post were awarded the said projects.
The controversy began after a social media post alleged that firms connected to Sara Discaya cornered government contracts in the third district.
He said the project in Batuan, Bohol with Contract ID 24HB0016 was awarded to Fuentabuilt Construction Corporation, not to Great Pacific Builders & General Contractor, Inc. as claimed.
The project in Barangay Bugsoc, Sierra Bullones with Contract ID 25H00007 was awarded to J.H. Pajara Construction, not to St. Timothy Construction Corporation.
The project in Barangay Salvador, Sierra Bullones with Contract ID 25H00008 was also awarded to J.H. Pajara Construction, and not to St. Timothy Construction Corporation.
The agency strongly denounced what it called the “spread of misinformation and misrepresentation of data meant to mislead the public or sensationalize issues.”
“We uphold transparency and accountability in our operations and encourage the public to reach out directly to our office for accurate information or to raise any concerns,” Cruz said.
