TAGBILARAN CITY — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) recorded a total of 2,886 actions against local ordinance violations across the province from April 27 to May 3, 2026, as part of its intensified “Safer Cities Initiative.”

Under the leadership of Provincial Director Patricio Degay Jr., police operations focused on enforcing traffic laws, protecting minors, and maintaining public order.

Data released by the BPPO showed that 1,188 violations were recorded under city and municipal traffic ordinances, reflecting continued efforts to promote road safety and discipline among motorists and pedestrians.

Authorities also reported rescuing 796 minors for curfew violations, underscoring the campaign to safeguard children from potential harm during late-night hours.

In terms of public order and health, 358 individuals were apprehended for drinking in public places, while 84 were cited for smoking in prohibited areas.

Police also issued warnings to four individuals for roaming shirtless in public and fined five violators for operating karaoke beyond allowed hours.

An additional 451 cases involved other local ordinance violations processed during the period.

Degay said the initiative goes beyond enforcement, emphasizing community welfare and shared responsibility.

“Our goal is simple: to make every city and municipality in Bohol a safer place to live, work, and do business. The ‘Safer Cities Initiative’ is not just about enforcement; it is about protecting the well-being of every Bol-anon through strict adherence to our local laws,” he said.

The BPPO urged the public to remain law-abiding and cooperate with authorities to help sustain peace and order across the province.
