Brigadier General Jonathan Cabal, director of the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, has called on the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) to investigate a policeman accused of assaulting a foreign national and his family while allegedly drunk.
Kenny Foster, and his wife were allegedly harassed by Corporal Marcelo “Siloy” Olaer of the Guindulman Police Station
at the town’s public market on Monday, Aug. 11.
Foster said the officer—later confirmed by other policemen to be drunk—flagged him down, tried to push him off his motorcycle, grabbed his gun, hurled expletives including “F*** America,” and kicked his bike. He also allegedly threatened to fight both him and his wife, who was carrying their five-month-old baby.
Foster claimed the officer punched him, shoved him, and attempted to hit his wife. Responding policemen reportedly told them to avoid the area until the officer left, rather than detain him.
In a social media post, the former police official described the suspect as a “rogue policeman” who has “once more disgraced the Philippine National Police (PNP)” through the incident.
The BPPO has yet to issue a statement regarding the allegation.
