Student athletes from Bohol province will be participating in the Palarong Pambansa 2024 that will begin next week until July 16 in Cebu City.
There are 600 delegates from Central Visayas. A total of 53 are student athletes came from Bohol- 39 from the Department of Education- Bohol Division and 14 from the Tagbilaran City Division.
The athletes are among more than 600 athletes in region 7 or Central Visayas which consists of 19 schools division from four provinces- Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
John Torregosa, DepEd- Bohol Division Sports Coordinator in an interview revealed that the games of taekwondo, gymnastics, boxing, wrestling, wushu, swimming, athletics and softball elementary will be participated by athletes in Bohol.
Apart from the athletes, 8 coaches and chaperons from Bohol are included in the delegation.
Meanwhile, in Tagbilaran City Division, the Division Sports Officer, Albert Lacang, revealed that the 14 athletes consist of 10 in swimming, 1 in taekwondo boys, 1 in chess elementary girls, 1 in athletics and 1 in table tennis.
According to Lacang, 11 coaches, key officials, working committee and RSAC or Regional Screening and Accreditation Committee are included in the city division.
The delegation from Bohol division will sail to Cebu evening of Friday, while the Tagbilaran division will travel in the morning of Saturday.
The billeting area of the Central Visayas delegation is at Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School in Barangay Basak San Nicolas in Cebu City.
On Wednesday, July, around 2,000 members of the advance parties have already arrived to their billeting quarters in Cebu City a few days before the opening ceremony on July 9.
