3 high-value drug suspects arrested in Loon buy-bust; P1.4-M worth of suspected shabu seized

LOON, BOHOL– In a successful anti-drug operation, operatives of the Loon Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested three high-value individuals (HVIs) during a buy-bust operation conducted at around 2:46 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Purok 2, Barangay Talisay, Cabilao Island, Loon, Bohol.

Those apprehended include a 45-year-old married male contractor, a 42-year-old single male fisherman, and a 32-year-old single unemployed woman—all residents of the said area.

Seized from the suspects were approximately 210 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with an estimated street value of P1,428,000.00, based on the Standard Drug Price (SDP). Authorities also confiscated a mobile phone, buy-bust money, and a sling bag.

The buy-bust operation was led by PCPT Thomas Zen B. Cheung, chief of Loon MPS, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspects are now in police custody and will be facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
