JAGNA, Bohol – A 19-year-old man listed on the police drug watchlist was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the police in Jagna town at dawn on July 28, 2025.
The operation was carried out at around 12:54 a.m. in Purok 3, Barangay Can-upao by the Jagna Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET), led by Lt. Zeus Livin Cinco Bugtai, officer-in-charge of the Jagna Municipal Police Station.
The suspect, a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Bunga Mar, Jagna, is classified as a street-level individual (SLI) and is being monitored for illegal drug activity.
Seized during the operation were 70.03 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 476,204.00, one .38 caliber revolver with no serial number and four live rounds, and P500 marked money used during the buy-bust.
The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) Director Col. Arnel Banzon commended the success of the operation, calling it a result of the province’s intensified anti-drug campaign.
“This operation is a product of our strong commitment to eliminate illegal drugs. We will continue our relentless efforts to arrest and stop individuals involved in illegal activities. The BPPO stands firm in ensuring our communities remain safe and drug-free,” Banzon said.
Lt. Col. Norman Nuez, spokesperson of the BPPO, also emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation.
“We are grateful for the coordination between Jagna MPS and the PDEA, which was crucial to the success of this operation. This sends a clear message that Bohol will not be a haven for drug personalities. Our fight to protect the people continues,” Nuez added.
