TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL – Former Bohol Governor and First District Representative Edgardo Chatto was honored with the Governor’s Excellence Award for Public Administration and Governance during the celebration of the 171st Bohol Day on Tuesday, July 22.
The award recognized Chatto’s enduring legacy in public service, which has brought significant progress and transformation to the province of Bohol.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado led the tribute, expressing heartfelt gratitude and admiration for Chatto’s leadership, which he said laid a strong foundation for the province’s continuing development.
Under Chatto’s administration, Bohol witnessed sweeping reforms and innovative programs in infrastructure, education, tourism, and the local economy. His calm, principled, and compassionate leadership style has served as an inspiration to many public officials and the youth.
The award was received by his wife, former Balilihan mayor now councilor Pureza Chatto, and daughter, Balilihan Mayor Trisha Chatto.
In a Facebook post, Chatto said, “We are humbled by this recognition given to us by the Provincial Government of Bohol during the celebration of the 171st Bohol Day.”
He expressed his gratitude to the provincial officials, local government officials, public and private sectors, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, faith-based Groups, and the entire Boholano community for allowing him to serve our beloved province for 43 fulfilling years.
“Making a difference in the life of others is an aspiration that we endeavor to pursue as our contribution to the growth and development of our country,” he said.
