TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — Nearly half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Cogon, this city, on Friday night, July 11, 2025.
Authorities identified the arrested suspect as Julius Ralph Tinio, 41, a native of Poblacion, Anda town. He was caught in possession of several plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams, with an estimated street value of P408,000, based on standard drug pricing.
The operation was conducted at around 10:32 p.m. in Purok 6, Barangay Cogon. It was led by PDEA-Bohol under the supervision of Provincial Chief Ferdinand Kintanar, in coordination with the Tagbilaran City Police Station and the Maritime Police.
According to PDEA, Tinio had been under surveillance for his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities, which led to the buy-bust operation.
This is not Tinio’s first drug-related arrest. In 2020, he was also apprehended by the City Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok 5, Booy District, Tagbilaran City. That operation yielded about 80 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱544,000.
He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
