17-year-old taken into custody in Pilar for drug charges

PILAR, BOHOL — A 17-year-old male was taken into custody by authorities in Barangay Lundag, Pilar, Bohol, following the implementation of a court-issued order related to two drug cases filed against him.

The operation was carried out at around 4 p.m. by personnel from the Candijay Police Station, in coordination with the Pilar Police Station and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDO) of both towns.

The minor, a high school student in Pilar, was taken into custody in connection with Criminal Case Nos. 5096 and 5098 for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The order to take custody was issued by Hon. Jorge B. Espinal, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 51 in Carmen, Bohol, dated June 20, 2025.

The court recommended bail amounts of ₱200,000 for Case No. 5096 and ₱120,000 for Case No. 5098.
