TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — Two men and a male minor were arrested on Monday morning, June 30, after they were allegedly caught in the act of stealing scrap materials from a construction site in Barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City.

At around 9:10 a.m., patrollers from Tagbilaran City Police Station Mobile 04 — identified as Police Chief Master Sergeant Roman Quidlat Jr. and Police Staff Sergeant Wilfredo Montemayor — responded to a phone call from the chief barangay tanod of San Isidro, reporting that three individuals had been apprehended while stealing steel rods from a residential construction site in Purok 3, Binayran Road.

Under the direct supervision of Lt. COL. John Kareen Escober, chief of police, responding officers proceeded to the area where they confirmed the arrest of the suspects through investigation and witness accounts.

The suspects were identified as: Harry Lumbo, 19, and Victor Roslinda, 23, – both residents of Purok 2, Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City; and one male minor, whose name was withheld for legal reasons.

Police said the suspects were caught red-handed by barangay tanods and concerned citizens while allegedly stealing construction materials from a house owned by Roselyn Politan, 41, a resident of the same barangay.

Confiscated from the suspects were several pieces of steel rods (scrap materials), two steel saws and a hammer.

All items were properly marked and documented as evidence.

The suspects were brought to the Tagbilaran City Police Station for processing and proper disposition. The minor was turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) for appropriate handling.

Police continue to remind the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities.
