The average residential electricity rate for Bohol Light has dropped to ₱9.04 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), a significant reduction of ₱0.88 per kWh compared to February 2025.
The Commercial total average rate has significantly reduced by P1.03 per kWh this month to P8.75 per kWh, compared to P9.78 last February.
This positive shift is primarily attributed to lower generation and transmission charges, a testament to Bohol Light’s commitment to providing affordable and reliable electricity to its consumers.
Bohol Light’s strategic approach to energy procurement is a key factor in achieving this decrease.
Through diligent energy sourcing and monitoring, the company has maximized its energy purchases from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM). This strategy allows Bohol Light to secure electricity more competitively, ultimately benefiting consumers.
This month’s lower rates will translate into tangible savings for households across Tagbilaran City.
Residential consumers with an average monthly consumption of 200 kWh can expect to save approximately ₱176 from their electricity bills.
“We are committed to providing our customers with the most affordable and reliable electricity possible,” Bohol Light said in a social media post. This rate reduction is a direct result of our strategic procurement practices and commitment to delivering value to our consumers.”
