Bohol vice gubernatorial aspirant Santos Abella said on Friday that he will still support the candidacy of reelectionist Gov. Erico Aumentado.
“I extend my congratulations to all the official candidates of Team Abante Bohol
headed by Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado for the 2025 midterm elections,” said Abella.
The official candidates of Team Abante Bohol were presented on Friday attended by provincial and local slates.
Santos, 62, an independent candidate, was not part of the team.
” Even though I was not included in the official slate, my wholehearted support is still with Gov. Aris. As he runs for another term, I wish him nothing but strength, wisdom, and the best of health,” he said.
He recalled how the young Aumentado welcomed him at his residence during the campaign period.
Abella, a farmer from Barangay Candelaria in Dagohoy town, said he is running as an alternative candidate.
“My dear Boholanos, I am running as Vice Governor, your alternative candidate, for the obvious reason that I want to serve you and our beloved province. Gov. Aris has a lot of plans for the province, and I wish I can work hand in hand with him to strengthen his programs and projects through legislative support and backing, ” he said.
He said, “Bohol is the kind of place that climbs into your heart and never leaves you. And trust me, I know.”
