The 8th substation of the Telephone and Radio Systems Integrated Emergency Response (TaRSIER117) officially began its operations in Inabanga on September 18.

Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado led the blessing, ribbon cutting and turnover ceremony.

He was joined by Inabanga Mayor Jono Jumamoy, Clarin Mayor Eugene Ibarra and Cherry Merin, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, on behalf of Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo and Dexter Ancla, representative of Cong. Maria Vanessa Aumentado.

The governor congratulated Inabanga, Clarin and Buenavista on the opening of the emergency response substation.

He committed to further expand the services of the Operations and Warning Division arm of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) to cater to hard to reach areas, in support of the program that benefits the people.

Jumamoy, for his part, expressed gratitude to the provincial government for opening the TaRSIER117 substation.

He shared his experience of the brand of service of TaRSIER117 during an emergency situation involving a family member. He also honored the sacrifices of emergency responders and committed to support the program that complements the LGU’s own ‘from womb to tomb’ initiatives.

Ibarra and Duallo echoed their thanks and lauded Aumentado’s sincere regard for the health and welfare of Boholanos.

Dr. Anthony Damalerio, PDRRMO head, explained the new substation, with its personnel complement of 25, will cater to the total of 109 barangays of its catchment areas of Inabanga, Clarin and Buenavista.

The substation also shares a space with the Governor’s Sub-office inside the Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital compound.

Created by the Provincial Government of Bohol under Executive Order No. 5, series of 2010, and further institutionalized under Provincial Ordinance No. 2013-006, TaRSIER117 opened with only 22 personnel.

Later on, it established substations in Carmen, Balilihan, Ubay, Jagna, Talibon, Loon and Candijay, growing to 360 personnel dedicated to the mandate of saving lives.

TaRSIER117’s expansion is a testament of the hands-on presence and genuine service of the provincial government headed by Governor Aumentado, towards achieving its strategic agenda for growth and development for the province.

Inabanga Sangguniang Bayan members and barangay officials, MDRRM officers, PDRRMO staff, Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection officials and hospital representatives also graced the activity. (PIMO/LMS)
