Tagbilaran City Councilor Malvin Misael “Atoy” Co Torralba announced his candidacy for mayor in the 2025 elections, after receiving unexpected support from several groups and individuals.
Torralba announced his intention to run for mayor in an interview with dyRD on Monday, July 15.
He said he has long been exploring the idea, forming a campaign committee for the endeavor lately.
“Andam nako mubarog para sa Tagbilaran,” Torralba said in his Facebook page.
“Buo na gyud akong kasing-kasing nga mudagan isip inyonh yanong Mayor para sa 2025 election,” he added.
He said he would stick to the priorities and focus on the future of the city.
Last June, incumbent Tagbilaran Mayor Jane Yap declared her intention to seek for reelection.
