The international cruise ship MV Heritage Adventurer tendered at Baclayon waters on June 26.

According to Joanne Pinat, officer in charge of the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office, the ship had on board 88 guests from New Zealand, Canada, and Australia.

The tourists disembarked by rubber boat visited Baclayon Church and went on a day tour to major geo sites in the province, including the Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella, Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bilar, and the Loboc River.

This vessel also visited Bohol in July last year, Pinat said.

Before Bohol, the ship had stops in Manila, Legazpi City, and San Miguel Island in Albay before proceeding to Bucas Grande in Siargao.

These are part of the 14-day Philippines-Indonesia expedition.

Their website shows that Heritage Adventurer is a true pioneering expedition vessel, often referred to as the ‘Grande Dame of Expedition Cruising’ due to her celebrated history and refined design.

It offers signature experiential expedition travel for its guests with spacious, stylish, and comfortable voyages. They also boast of continued traditions of exceptional, personalized expedition experiences.

Bohol has been carving its niche in international cruise ship calls.

Early this year, CMV Vasco De Gama of Nicko Cruises Germany also arrived at the Tagbilaran City Port.

The province’s strategic governance agenda for growth and development, under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Vice Governor Dionisio Victor Balite, is anchored on sustainable tourism as a major pillar. (PIMO/LMS)
