Bohol police nab alleged drug lord, seize P20.6M worth of shabu in Tagbilaran buy-bust

TAGBILARAN CITY — Police arrested an alleged drug lord and his companion and confiscated more than P20.6 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion 1 here on Sunday night, December 14.

Operatives of the Tagbilaran City Police Station conducted the operation at around 9:29 p.m., in coordination with the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO).

Police intelligence identified the two suspects as high-value drug personalities believed to be operating mainly in Tagbilaran City and nearby municipalities. Authorities said the suspects were capable of distributing up to three kilograms of illegal drugs monthly.

Seized during the operation were several heat-sealed and vacuum-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and items allegedly used in illegal drug transactions.

Authorities estimated the total weight of the confiscated drugs at approximately 3,040 grams, with a standard drug price value exceeding P20.6 million.

The seized evidence was turned over to the forensic unit at Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City for laboratory examination.

The suspects are currently detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station, while police are completing documentation for the filing of charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
