The provincial government continues to engage in sustainable partnerships, this time for inclusive and quality education through a collaboration with the ABS-CBN Foundation.
Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado welcomed the ABS-CBN Foundation team during their courtesy visit on April 22 at the governor’s office in the Capitol.
Maricar Estole, Program Head of ABS-CBN Foundation, thanked the provincial government for meeting the needs of the education sector, especially the schools in island communities.
Estole shared that the foundation’s first islet project in Bohol is the P4.6 million library hub constructed at Cabilao Elementary School through a partnership with the provincial government.
Along with Estole were Evelyn Marapao from the Schools Division Office-Bohol; Juniver Cabrera, Cabilao Elementary School principal; Peter Paul Cubay, Cabilao High School-Loon principal; and Rogelito Abanggan, Mayor Catalino Y. Casoyla Memorial High School, Suba Talibon principal.
Estole also discussed similar initiatives in other schools, including the P4M technical-vocational livelihood classroom at Cabilao National High School and another incoming classroom building project worth P3M in Suba, Talibon.
“Sukad sa kita na ang milingkod isip gobernador, atong gipaspasan pagparelease ang mga pondo nga magbenepisyo sa edukasyon para sa mga kabataan ilabina kanang anaa sa mga kaislahan,” Aumentado posted in his official Facebook page.
The governor expressed his gratitude to the ABS-CBN Foundation which initially partnered with his father, the late Gov. Erico Aumentado when the latter was still congressman.
“Andam kita sa pagtabang sa atong mga estudyante sa kaislahan, kay mas hayag ang kaugmaon sa mga kabatan-onan kung nakab-ot nila ang sakto nga edukasyon,” Aumentado added while expressing gratitude to the foundation.
The ABS-CBN Foundation also informed the governor that there will be a ceremonial turn-over with the said projects.
The turnover will soon be featured on TV Patrol, the longest-running Filipino-language news television program in the country.
In February 2023, the ABS-CBN Foundation team paid a courtesy visit to the Capitol to discuss the previous initiatives and incoming projects.
These include the distribution of school supplies at Talisay Elementary School, Cabacongan Elementary in Loon; turnover of 20 units of stand-alone desktop computers from ABS-CBN Foundation, Cabilao Elementary School; turnover of musical instruments and conduct of career guidance for Grade 10 in Cabilao National High School; turnover of DBLC equipment to Cabilao island schools; and the launch of Child Protection Program, Project KALASAG, in Cabilao, Loon, in August 2023.
