More than P10 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) was seized from an alleged big-time illegal drug trafficker in a buy-bust operation on early Thursday morning (Feb. 1, 2024) in Dauis town in Bohol province.
Members of the local drug enforcement unit arrested Bartolome Atizon Jr “alias Tomjones,” 23, a resident of Purok- 3, Barangay Bil-isan, Panglao, Bohol, after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in a transaction in Barangay Dao.
Police said the suspect yielded plastic sachets were placed inside a Chinese tea bag containing 1.550 kilograms of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P10, 540,000.
Police were conducting further investigations to determine the suspect’s source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect was detained and is facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
