The provincial government of Bohol knows no weekend as its functionaries distributed livelihood assistance to seven people’s organizations (POs) on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Through the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), the capitol awarded over P1.1 million worth of livelihood assistance to POs in the towns of Candijay, Catigbian, San Miguel, and Ubay.
On his first stop, Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado personally handed over a P203,470 check to the San Vicente Organic Chicken Growers Association in San Vicente, Ubay.
The amount will support the association’s agrivet supply retailing project.
At the Cadapdapan Barangay Hall in Candijay, the governor turned over equipment and financial assistance to the Cadapdapan Eskaya Tribe Farmer’s Association (CETFA) and Panaghugpong sa Mamumuo ug Mag-uuma sa Cadapdapan (PAMAMACA).
CETFA received a set of dairy milking equipment, while PAMAMACA received financial aid of P132,850 for the organization’s ginger tea production.

In Tomoc, San Miguel, the Tomoc Farmers Association received P203,470; the Bayanihan Women’s Association received P203,479; and the Kahayag Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association received P350,653.
Each association had allocated the amount for their respective priority projects.
The Ambuan United Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Catigbian, meanwhile received P426,696 allocated for its mini rice mill facility.
In his message, the governor congratulated PO members and expressed delight at the progress of the community and the success of their projects.
He also hoped that the associations would continue to work and ensure that the aid is used effectively so that the provincial government can provide further assistance.
All assistance was made possible through PCDO and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, aimed at empowering and creating sustainable communities through the collective efforts of residents as anchored in the Strategic Change Agenda. (PiMO/ALT/JSS)
