Signal No. 1 lifted as ‘Kabayan’ further weakens into LPA

Kabayan (international name: Jelawat) has further downgraded into a low-pressure area (LPA) on Monday, the state weather bureau Pagasa reported.

Following the weakening of the Kabayan, the agency said it likewise lifted the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in all areas nationwide.

In its latest cyclone update at 5 p.m. on Monday, Pagasa said that it was last spotted in the vicinity of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon, around 3 p.m., moving northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour.

Kabayan weakened into an LPA at 2:30 p.m.

It added that the LPA “will continue to cross the rugged terrain of Mindanao, and emerge over the Sulu Sea between this afternoon and evening.”
