59 families evacuated in Candijay town due to ‘Kabayan’

With tropical storm “Kabayan” now threatening the Visayas and Mindanao, the Candijay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said that at least 59 families or 182 persons have been preemptively evacuated.

The MDRRMO said the evacuees were residents from barangays Panadtaran, Canawa, Cambane, Luan, Tugas, Cadapdapan and Can-olin.

They were brought to evacuation centers since Sunday.

Mayor Thamar Olaivar, also the municipal disaster risk reduction management council (MDRRMC) chairperson, distributed food packs and bottled waters. 

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Bohol under storm sugnal no. 1.

On Monday morning, Pagasa placed Bohol under red rainfall warning.
