A total of 391 families in Sierra Bullones, Bohol, have received P5,000 each from the National Housing Authority (NHA) under its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (Ehap), bringing relief to households whose homes were damaged by recent disasters.
Orencio Mumar, representing Governor Aris Aumentado, thanked the NHA for the release of funds, noting that while the aid was delayed due to technical processes, it remains a vital support for affected families. He added that the governor values the agency’s continued assistance to Boholanos still recovering from the impacts of natural calamities.
Ehap provides immediate financial aid to families whose homes are damaged or destroyed by typhoons, floods, fires, or earthquakes. In Bohol, thousands of families have previously benefited from the program. In an earlier “Duaw ug Kukabildo” activity in Carmen, for instance, 1,412 beneficiaries each received P10,000 in cash assistance.
The initiative complements the Capitol’s Strategic Change Agenda under the Social Equity and Human Development pillar, which seeks to ensure equitable access to protection and support across communities.
Aumentado and Rep. Vanessa “Van-van” Aumentado are also pushing stronger housing initiatives through the Balay sa Paglaum program in partnership with the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), aimed at building safe and resilient homes for Boholano families—an effort consistent with the mission of the NHA’s Ehap.
Present during the distribution were Mayor Michael Doria, Vice Mayor Jose Buslon, and Board Member Nathaniel Binlod, who all expressed support for continuing programs that directly address the needs of disaster-affected families in the province. With a report from PIMO
