A pre-employment training seminar for the graduating students was conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Bohol Cultural Center, sponsored by the provincial government of Bohol.
Speakers from their different fields of expertise shared their knowledge in job hunting and the biblical learnings associated with their work experiences.
Graduating students were oriented on their rights, responsibilities, common employment scams, employment contracts, and job matching.
Janssen Ocaña, Department of Labor and Employment Bohol field officer, talked about labor education.
Lawyer Karl Frederick Arriola, Department of Migrant Workers Region VII OIC regional director, talked about overseas employment, especially illegal recruitment.
Jobs180 Managing Director Kim Brian Chua engaged participants in an informative discussion with on how to create an online resume and how to stand out and market themselves.
Participating schools were Bohol Island State University, Bohol Northwestern College, Bohol Wisdom School, Cristal-E College, Holy Name University, Philippine Maritime Institute, and the University of Bohol.
On Nov. 11, a local and overseas job fair will also be held at the cultural center.
